Welcome to the Archive of Marshal The Saytr
My name is Marshal and i'm an artist of many kinds. I write and draw, this is a space for me to display all that hard work. Thank you for stopping by!
This website is a Work in progress (as you can see). It's going to change a lot by the time I'm happy with it but im generally an ametur when it comes to html and CSS right now. When the site is done this disclaimer will go away and there should be these elements present: an about me page, a guest book, a link page to all other relevant profiles i have, a blog sections with mini essays book reviews and non fiction personal musings, a section for my fiction writing, a section for my OCs, maybe even an art section, and other shit I find nice to catalouge. I intend to add a LOT of writing here. Right now I have 2 big projects and 4 sub projects. here's the list:
The Secret of the Stars:
aka Thesots. This project is a homebrew dnd setting with at least 6 years of work in it! ive been making and running dnd in thesots for a long time and i would say its the most successful thing ive ever made! at least 4 parties have played in it. thesots is a bit of a catch all project for me in terms of how its created, i make something, it doesnt get used, can it go in thesots? then it does. otherwise plenty of material is made just for thesots and the players in it. DND worlds are best when made with the players in mind so every aspect is tweaked for the current party to get maximum enjoyment out of it. The current party plays about 1 or 2 times a month and we have been running for almost 2 1/2 years now...
Crystal dragon universe:
A big worldbuilding project that is just for original fiction. Every sub project here is basically another book or novella to go in the pile. This project has been a big joy and challenge for me. Its hard to move away from creative crutches youve always been working with and DND/TTRPG has done that to me. When each character starts with a stat sheet and combat mechanics you end up with every story feeling like generic Faerune stuff. Terrible for my personal brand, Terrible for my creative confidence ect ect. In the end ive discovered a lot about what I like to write and have been reading a BIG list of novels and series so I can understand the genre of fantasy better and write better stories. Standing on the shoulders of giants and all that...
Snowbloom:
One of the beginnings of this whole thing. It all started with a few ideas about the orgins of these characters relationship. Eventually I decided I would just wrtie a damn novel. This project changes frequently, I've learned A LOT since I started working on it. The gist is always the same, go to faerie, admit feelings, go home. You might think it would be easy, but this novel has resisted finishing for a long time.
The king of dragons:
what you might consider the "main story" of CDU. the biggest baddest roughest toughest one of the bunch. starring only my best and most favorite boy in the whole world, HOWARD! this one has the slowest process. its a BIG work that is going to have more than just a single love story in it. This one should see the world changing drastically in it, and all the world building should be corroborated by the other works in the universe/series.
Hidden Hallways:
the most twisted romance in all of CDU. this one is like, almost purely self indulgence. an old elf and a vampire in a toxic, not quite love arrangement with a ton of violence and sex. it doesn't get beter than this. this one has also been so hard to write. had to put it down a few times in a row and i dont have mush more than notes at this point. a dream project that i chip away at.
Stains of the hunter:
newest project. one outline and a dream. Finally with a cool title. This one is a project I am working on in May 2025 during my personal month long writing challenge "Nonowrimo". Me and my friends will be writing all month and i'm excited to have a little bit to show for my effort. so far 21k words of Real content and Finished scenes for you to read soon.
